Summary: Discussed upcoming events -- garden tour, book discussion, T'Shala's installation, luncheon in Mtn View, Voted to keep a reserve for Kitchen needs. Discussed possible recipients of our funds. Details Devotional -- Dorothy Ellis read a beautiful Psalm and lead us in a prayerful meditation.
Card sent to Larry Wilson who recently lost his wife.
Minutes for March meeting were read and approved.
Fern gave the treasurer's report
Thank you to all the women for contributing to the coffee hour. A big thank you to Nancy Jo and Mary Ellen for the lovely decorations and to Diane and Kim for helping with clean up.
jackie read the warm letter of gratitude from Julie Victorine for the Women's group contribution to Center for Healthy Development.
Book Discussion group will meet on Saturday, Jackie will lead. It looks like we will have about 10 participants.
Gardening tour with Pippa -- Sign-up sheet now includes 11 people. Jackie will notify Fern of the location to get gift card. Jackie will email everyone before hand reminding them where to meet to car pool, who all to expect etc.
Luncheon in Mtn View -- Carol and Paula will do dry run next week and let everyone know details of the outing.
Distribution of funds -- We voted to set aside $200 for kitchen needs, such as a large, 20 qt pot for cooking spaghetti for example. In addition we will distribute $700 to organizations. We are considering VCU, Women's Shelter in Santa Cruz, Rebele Family Shelter in Santa Cruz, Pastor Discretionary Fund. We will choose recipients and amounts at the May meeting and distribute in June.
We agreed that we need to do a kitchen inventory to see what we need and remove items that we don't need. jackie showed some small size plastic cups she purchased which will fill the need for children's drinking cups. She is also purchasing forks as they become available. Mary Ellen and Linda agreed to do the inventory.
We were reminded that T'Shala's installation will be Sunday April 18. Ruth passed around a signup for pot luck items.
Jackie announced that she will not be able to lead the Women's Group next fall.
The next meeting will be May 4th at Fern's house at 10:30 Nancy Jo will do the devotional, Carol and Mary S will provide snacks.
