Minutes for Trustees Committee

Meeting date: 2010-03-04 Next meeting: 2010-04-08

These minutes have not yet been approved.

Submitted by: Larry Cooke

Attendees:

  • Gene Geist
  • John Seckinger
  • Terry Leary
  • Larry Cooke
  • Lou McTamaney
  • Gerry Alonzo
  • Stephen Glauz-Todrank

Summary: elected John Sekinger & Terry Leary co-chairmen. Spring Clean-up 3/27. Still to fix window, Bell tower door, shed door, fan controls, fireplace sign, and men's bathroom heater.

Details

Larry opened the meeting at 7:40, and Stephen began with a prayer, after which, John and Terry showed up, creating a quorum to begin business.

Gerry Alonzo provided the Treasurers Report for February. The pledges are holding up and the YTD revenue is still ~4K in the black.

The February minutes were then reviewed and approved.

New Business:

After some Larry provided a description of the duties of the chairman, Terry and John agreed to be co-chairmen of the Trustees, which the trustees heartily approved.

Larry agreed to write the minutes for this meeting, and send the last version of the open items list to the new chairmen.

No new news with regard to the side window in downstairs Whitiker Hall. Larry put a call into Brothers service department, but has not yet heard back from them about an estimate and/or time to fix the window.

Lou said the bell tower door is stuck shut. He suggested putting a handle on it since there is only a dead bolt there now.

We also discussed tightening or replacing the spring on the shed door, to allow it to open during the winter months.

Lou and Gerry agreed to look into fixing both; the bell tower door and the shed door.

We discussed the member's difficulty controlling the fans. The trustees suggested Lou move the controls higher on the wall, and tape over the on/off slider to stay in the on position. Lou agreed to look into fixing the problem.

The Co-chairs agreed to announce the spring clean-up day will be at 9am on March 27th.

Old Business

Gerry said Larry Lopp has the receipts for the heaters. Terry will ask Larry if he can find the receipt. Update: Even though the defective heater is in the men's bathroom, as of Saturday, the nursery still smells of gas.

With regard to the Wine, Stephen agreed to contact the donor to put them in contact with John Seckinger.

With regard to the church window, since there has been on leakage from the window, it was agreed to wait for distinctly dry weather (probably May) before scheduling the raised basket.

Stephen agreed to put a sign to request restricted use of the fireplace.

Other

The Trustees normally meet on the first Thursday of the month, but this month it would fall on April 1st which conflicts with Maundy Thrusday services, so the Trustees agreed to me on Thursday 4/8/10 at 7:30pm.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:55pm.
