Summary: Locked up the Church storage areas to avoid theft. Performed emergency branch clearing and downstairs Whitiker flood cleaning after storm. Looked into fixing propane leak in bathroom. Details Stephen opened the meeting with a prayer at 7:35. The minutes from September were reviewed and approved as were the past April, May and June minutes. Gerry Alonzo provided the Treasurers Report for September. YTD revenue was down ~$3,800 but expenses were also down about $3,500 which left a shortfall of less than $400. The updated Net proceeds from the Harvest Festival totaled $14,122, about the same as last year. NEW BUSINESS 1. Coffee assignments for September, October, and November: The three open Sundays from last month were filled in. 2. Harvest Festival wrap-up Brian created a box to store one of the canopies. After putting it under the church, he concluded, because of the weight, we should construct bags to hold the other canopies. The latches and combination locks were put on the church crawl space doors. Two of the fences were placed on the front of the storage area under the nursery, and also locked. OLD BUSINESS 1. Tree Trimming: Tree trimming needs to be scheduled before winter. It was agreed that Larry would contact Agri-con to get an estimate for trimming the oaks that extend over the church and the Bay in the parking lot. 2. Propane Smell: Brian agreed to test the pilot light, soap the lines for leaks, and Find out about servicing. 3. Church Leak: Terry agreed to look into borrowing the community scissors lift, or renting one to access and caulk the window on the roof above the alter. Other The meeting was adjourned at 8:45pm. The breezeway light were replaced. It was noted that many of the CFL bulbs were either damaged, or old.
The next meeting is Thursday 11/5/09 at 7:30pm.
UPDATE Since the last meeting, to be discussed in the next meeting.
1. Flood: Paul Perry notified the Trustees that the storm left a large oak branch in back of Whitiker and about an inch of water downstairs in Whitiker. Paul scraped out what water he could, John and Anthony cut up the fallen branch and got what contents were subject to the flood to higher ground. Larry wet vacuumed the rugs the next week-end. Larry then got Stanley Steamer to steam clean, deodorize and treat the carpets for mildew. They also installed a dehumidifier and left it on for 3 days to remove the moisture from under the floor, furniture and book shelves. 2 Propane: Brian has gotten the manufactures information for the faulty heater. He has checked for CO and soap tested the line, both of which have been negative. Michael agreed to look at it when the trustees meet in November.
