Minutes for Trustees Committee

Meeting date: 2009-08-06 Next meeting: 2009-09-03

These minutes have been approved. No further changes to these minutes will be permitted.

Submitted by: Larry Cooke

Attendees:

  • Lou McTammany
  • Larry Cooke
  • Terry Leary
  • Brian Wood
  • Gene Geist
  • John Seckinger
  • Gerry Alonzo

Summary: Lou got trustee approval for the irrigation project and completed it himself. He also completed the Fan installation with Gerry, and the Planter Box construction with Brian.

Details

There was no face to face meeting this month, just E-mail & phone correspondence between listed attendees.

New Business:

Irrigation system: It was agreed via e-mail and phone to approve Lou's proposed irrigation system, with separate controls for three lines from the water tank: one to the Bell Tower, one to the planter box, and one to the planting area between the church and the walk to Whitiker Hall. The proposal was unanimously approved. It had an estimated cost of $490. Lou purchased the materials, dug the trenches, connected the pipes and controls, and filled and patched the parking lot.

Old Business:

1. Fireplace: Lou purchased mortar for the Fireplace.

2. Fans: Lou and Gerry installed the fans and determined that the control systems needed some additional components, which were obtained. Lou installed the controls between the Fireplace and the entrance to Whitiker Hall.

3. Planter Box: Lou and Brian built and lined the planter box.

Other:

Lou submitted the following for the agenda for the next meeting:

Water Leak: The temporary support placed under the plumbing has stopped the leak – a more permanent solution will need to be implemented

Propane smell in women’s bathroom: As far as I know nothing has been done about this other than turning off the gas

Kitchen Smoke Alarm: A 9V battery was installed in the relocated alarm. Extra batteries were put in the electrical parts storage container in the shed

Fireplace bricks have cracks, upstairs Whitaker: I purchased the fireplace mortar but it requires 1200 degrees F for a final cure within 30 days of application, so I'll wait until the weather calls for a fire in the fireplace.

Sanctuary Leak: ServiceMagic.com was to be called to get quotes for the repair -- As far as I know nothing has been done about this

Extending Asphalt by handicap parking: As far as I know nothing has been done about this

Exterior Lighting on the west side of Whitaker: As far as I know nothing has been done about this

Add a shelf in the men's bathroom near the sink: As far as I know nothing has been done about this

Shed Repair: Funds have been set aside. As far as I know nothing more has been done about this

Next meeting either Thursday September 3rd or 10th at 730 pm
