Minutes for Trustees CommitteeMeeting date: 2006-01-12 Next meeting: 2006-02-12 These minutes have been approved. No further changes to these minutes will be permitted. Submitted by: Maire Howard Attendees:
Summary: Last meeting of the year, further discussion of the kitchen remodel Details Stephen opened the meeting with a prayer.
Terry Clark and Brook Kraeger were thanked for their service as this is their last meeting as trustees.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Pledges are on target with projected budget. Total general fund income is about $500 short of projected receipts. Total general fund expenditures are about $2700 less than projected expenditures, even with partial payment of increased insurance.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Brook Kraeger reported that Jeff from Make-A-Buck will install the valve on the tank in the spring. Brook will supervise the installation of the rest of plumbing needed for our new tank in the spring. 2. KITCHEN REMODEL: Brook Kraeger made a report as to the standing of the kitchen remodeling project. Brook is willing to continue spear-heading this project. He will get together with Joan Law after she talks to Home Depot about our remodel job. Pippa Siersema moved and Gene Geist seconded a motion that we set a target date for the congregation to go over the remodel plans on March 12th. The motion passed. We will try to get approval for financing the kitchen remodel at that time. We need the congregation approval for three phases: layout, cost, and work.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. COUNCIL MEETING: We’re preparing for the annual meeting on Jan. 29th. The trustees will present a progress report at that time. A slate of new officers will be voted on at this meeting. The prospective new trustees are Jim Bowen, Wes Smith, and Brenden Pratt. 2. TOILET REPAIR: Gene Geist will check out the toilets in the women’s bathroom. 3. HALL RENTAL: Fern Thompson will ask the Loma Prieta Club if they will be willing to pay $50 a time for the hall rental. 4. Maire Howard presented a list of items the trustees have worked on during the past year. 5. PANCAKE BREAKFAST: Pippa Siersema will contact the volunteer firemen to see if they would be interested in sharing some pancake breakfasts with Skyland Church. We would provide the facility and share the work and profits with the firemen. We decided that a pancake breakfast would be best on a Saturday. 6. WELCOME PACKAGE: We are still waiting of obtaining the picture and a history of Skyland Church for the welcome package. We have the lists of new mountain residences and would like to distribute the welcome package to all new residences. 7. PLEDGE DRIVE: We will decide on a schedule for the annual pledge drive during our February meeting. Hopefully we will have witnesses talk to the congregation during worship services starting March 19th.
Respectfully submitted, Fern Thompson
