Present: Wes Smith, Gene Geist, Jim Bowen, Larry Lopp, Lou McTamaney, Stephen Glauz-Todrank, Gerry Alonzo, Maire Howard, Peggy Johnson
The minutes from the 10/08 meeting were approved.
Gerry gave the Treasurer’s report. Offerings are down about $2600 than expected. A few sponsors from the 10K run have turned in their money. Also some of the money from website entries has come in.
Current Projects: 1) Lou said that the bathroom project is done. He will buy 3 toilet seat cover dispensers. 2) Loma Prieta Women’s Club donated $500 for fans. These will be purchased for Whittaker Hall. 3) Jim got a bid from John Thompson for the stair project (about $2300). The wall and door are in bad shape. Three more bids are needed for the limited irrigation needed on the front/side of church, putting a storage area under the nursery, and moving the water tank up the hill. 4) The Site Planning Committee will make preliminary recommendations to the Trustees by the end of the year. 5) The status of the corner piece of property is still pending. 6) The parking lot needs to be restriped. Gene said the striper is not underneath the church. Larry will look for it. 7) There will be a church clean-up on 12/6 from 9AM-noon before the church decorating starts. Work to include cleaning gutters and putting on screens and possibly removing the 2 dead trees on the side of the hall. The extra Harvest Festival wood will be removed and cut into kindling on another day by Larry and Lou. Maire will donate trees if someone wants to go to her property to cut them down.
New Business: 1) There was a request by a church member for the broken concrete in the dumpster. It was decided that the church member could have the concrete. 2) The 2 handicapped spaces will be marked with blue paint. 3) The tree between the church and the bell tower needs to be cut down. This will not happen on 12/6. 4) The church cleaners need new tools and cleaning supplies (e.g., squeezer for mop). Larry will ask Paul what tools he needs. We will supply him with green products, especially for cleaning the floor. Green Space in Santa Cruz would be a good place to buy these products.
