We met at the home of Janis Smith. Our leader, Mary Ellen, brought the meeting to order. Ruth Dawkins led the devotional. The minutes of last month’s meeting were approved as read. Sunshine Cards were signed by the attending women and will be sent to Sally Mitchell. Treasurers Report: Diane Cooke was unable to be at the meeting. Mary Ellen reported Diane will be in school this next semester, however she will remain treasurer for this year. Our total comes to 1,887.00
Old Business: The women present discussed the Soul Collage workshop and decided we would like to do it again next year. They also decided the Wine Tasting had been a great success. They decided to have people sign a Thank you card for the use of his winery. New Business: We discussed how to spend the money collected from the various projects this year. We decided as follows: 1. Women’s bathroom floor--$600.00 2. Valley Churches United--$100.00 3. Matching Cups and glasses for kitchen--$100.00 4. Anne Evan’s Library Project in Africa-shipping costs--$100 5. Jackie Seymour’s daughters African project for the Peace Corps--$100 6. City of Refuge church for Aids Orphans--$100 7. Native American Boy--$300
Our June 3 meeting at Mary Skillicorn’s will be a luncheon. Brenda Jatho will set up with Mary. Clean up will be handled by Mary Ellen, Del, and Nancy Jo. Del, Mary, and Janis will bring salads. Fern and Nancy Jo will bring desserts. Carol will bring Margaritas. Mary Ellen will bring Bread and Lavender Cookies.
At the end of the meeting, Mary Ellen summarized our accomplishments for this year. We held two beading classes, a Spaghetti dinner, a Women’s Retreat, a Soul Collage class, A Wine tasting event, and contributed to Christmas and Easter flowers as well as potlucks.
Next meeting will be held on May 3, 2008 at Mary Skillicorn’s home. It will be a luncheon and will begin at 11:00 A. M.
