SKYLAND CHURCH TRUSTEES MEETING

Whitaker Hall Thursday Dec.13, 2007 7:30pm

The formal TRUSTEE MEETING was opened with:

A Prayer

A Quorum was present

Minutes of Nov.1st meeting were approved as written and submitted

Treasurers Report

The pledges and offerings are behind the budget by a little over $3000. In addition, Harvest festival was behind the budget by $4800, as noted previously. The hall rental is down about $1400. The 10 k run was $1600 behind budget. The year to date income is about $11,058 under in total.

Disbursements were over by $2100 for council and $1300 under for outreach (Non- UCC). Other expenditures were under, so the total was $2113, under budget (favorable).

The grand total, for everything, is $8944 over budget, year to

Date.

Old business

The projects currently in progress, and those approved, are almost completed. There is some residual on the bathroom for the partition. It was voted that Fern proceed with ordering the partition. It will be ordered this month.

There will be about $2,500 needed to complete the ramp and raise the level of the walkway; this allows reasonable wheel chair access to the bathrooms. There appears to be enough money to complete this, when we include Gerry’s kind donation. It is hoped to complete this by the end of February 2008.

New Business:

Harvest Festival

The report was given by Jim Bowen. The committee for Harvest Festival met Dec. 11th and the report and suggestions are available for those interested.

Tree maintenance

The tree near the church entrance had to be trimmed as a branch had fallen. Agricon was asked if the tree was salvageable and they thought it was not, and recommended the whole tree come down. They estimated this would cost $1250.

Pippa was going to check with Brook to get other bids. It was thought that the tree removal may be an emotional issue and sought be a congregational decision.

Fire project

Lou gave a review of the fire project. The installation is done and the finasl inspection was approved by the CDF Felton office.

Hall Rental

Gina will report to the Council, on Dec. 18th, the proposed rental policy for Whitaker Hall.

Green Project

It is expected that we will receive our Green Certificate this month. Jackie Seymour has directed these efforts and deserves thanks for her successful efforts.

Budgets

The completion of the budgets will be done in January/February.

Annual Report

An annual report of the Trustees was due before Dec. 31. Maire Howard agreed to do that report and Lou McTamaney agreed to edit it.

The Meeting was adjourned at 9:30PM, with a prayer by Stephen.
