Harvest Festival –Jim and Peggy reported. Though we made less money than last year, Many areas did quite well. Rain was probably a factor, and Several of our usual silent auction donators were unable to participate this year. However, Several areas did quite well. Jim and Peggy recommend that we rethink our whole Harvest Festival Concept. Richard moved that we form a small committee to create a new harvest festival plan to present at the January Congregational meeting, Nancyjo seconded. Council vote was for the motion. New Business: Deacons: Our intern is doing nicely. Skyland has been asked to mentor a Samoan church in it's initiation to UCC membership. Deacon’s potluck 18th of November, Patricia will lead a bible study class for four Sundays, Skyland church has 5 "in-care" members.
Trustees: Bruce Victorine and Brian Wood have resigned. Both felt, due to work and other pressures, they could not give as much as is needed for the position. Moira has come back to lead the Trustees until the end of this term. Fern and Pippa will be gone at end of year. Fern is lead on bathroom project.
Missions: Agenda next year same as this year. Green. November 10 will be another cooperative cleanup--four mountain churches participating together.
Women’s group: will sponser a women’s retreat , spaghtetti dinner. Deborah Streeter will lead retreat. Women will sponser a Wine tasting at Silver Mountain Winery in May. They will offer several classes this fall and in the spring, including collage, and beading.
Paster relations: meet next moth to talk with Stephen about Salary.
It was moved by Richard, Nancy Jo seconded that the choir funds be managed by the Deacons. The council voted to do so.
