Minutes for Trustees CommitteeMeeting date: 2007-08-08 Next meeting: 2007-09-12 These minutes have not yet been approved. Submitted by: Brian Wood Attendees:
Summary: No Quorum present, Ramp, Fire protection, Proposed lower hall renovation, Harvest Festival, Bathroom project Details Old Business:
There was a discussion of the need for a ramp or a means to reach the lower level of the church. Lou showed the plans and grade measurements. Unfortunately the proposed plan shows a 6% grade instead of the required 5% grade. It was suggested we could blacktop and make a driveway to accommodate a car or cars so access could be provided. A rough estimate was the job would cost $5400 and would be about 12 ft by 150 ft. It was agreed that we should get bids.
Fire protection; The fire marshal needs to approve the location of the fire hydrant and then Brook will dug the trench for the pipe leading to the tank. We plan to have posts to protect the hydrant from errant cars. Funds are already allocated for this job. Installation is in progress.
Proposed lower hall renovation
Larry presented the plans for the lower hall renovation. The project is under way and the target is end of September for completion. The lighting was discussed and drawings were shown indicating location of dual lamp 4 ft fixtures with medium output ballasts. The drywall is being installed and the windows will follow. The estimate for the windows was $4500 and the bid from Brothers was discussed. The floor would be commercial grade vinyl and should run about $3000. There will be plastering and taping in August. We will use wire mold for the fixture wiring, where we cannot easily get access to the wiring. Paint samples will be shown to some of the members and a paint color picked.
A discussion was held regarding using a licensed plumber to do both the propane and plumbing. No decision was made but we will get bids to review.
Harvest Festival: It was decided to put up the booths as early as Sept. 8th to ascertain what redesign was necessary. The wood under Whitaker needs to be removed as soon as possible in any case to get at the bathroom plumbing. An estimate from a licensed plumber was thought to be advisable. The wood removal will be done on Saturday August 11th.
Bathroom project
The discussion about the bathroom took place. The rough estimates were $3000 for the blacktop and concrete (including some erosion control) for the front of the bathrooms and about $3000 for bath room fixtures. No decision was made, although we will get bids on plumbing and the propane connections.
Since there was not a quorum, no votes were taken. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM
