  • Wes Smith

Summary: First meeting of newly formed communications committee, discussed volunteers, current and future projects including database, newsletter, print publishing.

Details

The Communications Committee will be officially voted in as a real committee next year. In the meantime it's an acting committee. John Wetherill will be the chairperson.

This committee will be the "conduit" of information for all communications from within the church.

We first discussed need for volunteers inside and outside of the committee to work on various projects:

Database (John W and Wes)

Documentation Project (Larry)

Newletter printing (Nancy Jo and Wes)

Other projects:

Need email notification system for flowers, potlucks, and coffee hours

Blogs on church website: Del made the point that there needs to be guidelines on what is posted on the blog site.

We need to train Stephen to get up to speed working with all aspects of the website and email.

Nancy will look into printing the weekly bulletin on 2-sided printer, which will give us an extra page we can use for timely information such as announcements and calendar events.

John G and Mike volunteered to consider contributing coding help to the website. John W will get them whatever info they need.
