Minutes for Women's Group CommitteeMeeting date: 2007-03-16 Next meeting: 2007-03-16 These minutes have not yet been approved. Submitted by: Del Mahrle Attendees:
Summary: Reviewed retreat, discussed: the soap making class, Easter set up, Flower Calendar, and how to orient people to the new kitchen. Details We met at Del Mahrle’s home
Our leader, Mary Ellen, brought the meeting to order.
Del Mahrle led the prayer.
Mary Ellen handed out the minutes of the last meeting. After discussion, they were approved
Sunshine Cards were signed by the attending women and will be sent to: Joyce Haworth, Linda Heyes, and Al Hanson. Prayer was offered.
Diane Cooke gave the treasurer’s report. The Spaghetti Dinner netted $411.00. The retreat netted $146.00. Diane reminded us that we will need to have another person serve as treasurer after June.
The Retreat is viewed to have been a success. Eileen is a good leader, she is well spoken, flexible, and kept us on-track. We liked the location. We agreed to consider another retreat next year.
The soap making class will be held on April 21. It will be a half-day workshop. We need six (at least) in the class for it to be held. So far, four are signed up. Mary Skillicorn volunteered to be responsible for collected payments for the class. The money needs to be to Mary by the April meeting.
Dorothy Ellis volunteered to set up and decorate for the Easter Services. Fern Thompson will set out coffee for the sunrise service. We all should bring baked goods for the coffee hours for both services.
Mary Skillicorn will be in charge of the Flower Calendar for the coming year. We decided to ask the congregation to all bring Easter lilies to decorate for the Easter service. Jackie Seymour will bring flowers next week. Fern will bring them on March 18th.
We discussed labels for the kitchen. The consensus was that we would put up two schematic drawings of the kitchen. The group decided labels would then be unnecessary. Also, Joan Law will have two orientations during two coffee hours.
The women as a group are concerned about the ramp to the bathrooms. We will check with Larry Lopp to find out when work on the ramp might begin.
We brought up the idea of working on the Women’s bathroom as a possible project for our group to take on.
The April 3 meeting will be at Fern Thompson’s home. Del Mahrle will do the devotional.
Respectfully submitted, Del Mahrle
